A commenter called their doctor about a sick pet and the AI booked an appointment 30 minutes later, which worked out.

A commenter described calling a new vet clinic while their dog was yelping and asking whether any same-day appointments were available. The clinic’s AI phone bot handled the call instead of a person, took the symptom description, and booked an appointment for 30 minutes later; the commenter guessed a more obvious emergency might have been rerouted to staff, but did not confirm that.
The appointment it booked did work out for that case, and the dog turned out not to be in pain but to have anxiety issues. The commenter’s concern was that the same flow could be risky in a more time-sensitive emergency.
The practical catch was trust: even though it got them in quickly, the caller found describing a worrying situation to the bot impersonal and unsettling.
Set up a phone assistant that calls [vet clinic name] at [number] about my [pet type] who has [symptoms], and asks for the earliest appointment on [days/times]. It should report back the time offered and ask me before confirming. Stop once I have a confirmed appointment time in my calendar.

An agent classifies receipts and inspection reports, proposes maintenance tasks, and drafts vendor messages for a property owner.
An assistant on top of Gmail and Calendar detects recurring meetings, repeated email types and bills, then asks whether to prep or schedule them.
