A Klaviyo abandoned-checkout flow with ChatGPT-written copy for each product collection, so every reminder speaks to what the shopper left behind.
Most carts are abandoned, and the default “You left something behind” email recovers only a small share of them. Generic reminders ignore what the shopper was buying and why they hesitated. Writing tailored copy for every product line by hand never gets done.
Install the Klaviyo app in Shopify and enable onsite tracking so checkouts are captured. Run a test checkout and confirm the Started Checkout metric appears under Analytics > Metrics.
Pick your top 5–8 collections and write down the most common reason people hesitate on each: sizing, price, shipping time or compatibility. Take these from support tickets and reviews, not guesses.
Run the copy prompt once per collection. Each run returns three emails: a reminder at 1 hour, an objection-handling email at 24 hours and a final nudge with an incentive at 72 hours.
Create a flow from the abandoned cart template, triggered by Started Checkout, with the flow filter “Placed Order zero times since starting this flow”. Set delays of 1 hour, 23 hours and 48 hours between the three emails.
In each email, add one text block per collection and set its show/hide logic, for example `'Running Shoes' in event.Collections`. Keep a generic block for carts that match none of them, and use the dynamic cart block to show the items.
Add a Shopify unique coupon (`{% coupon_code 'COMEBACK10' %}`) to the third email only, and exclude profiles that used a recovery discount in the last 90 days. This stops regular customers from learning to abandon carts on purpose.
You write abandoned-checkout emails for {{store_name}}, which sells {{store_description}}. Brand voice: {{voice_notes}}.
Write three emails for shoppers who left items from the "{{collection_name}}" collection in their cart. The most common reason they hesitate is: {{main_objection}}.
Email 1 (1 hour after): a short reminder under 60 words, no discount.
Email 2 (24 hours after): address the hesitation directly with one concrete fact, such as {{proof_point}}. Under 90 words.
Email 3 (72 hours after): a final reminder that includes the placeholder [COUPON]. Under 70 words.
For each email, give two subject lines under 45 characters and a preview text under 90 characters. No emoji, no fake urgency, no exclamation marks.Scrape competitor product pages every night with Apify, match them to your SKUs, and update Shopify prices within margin and change limits you set.
